Content Creator/ Editor needed for
Alternative Atlas of Lesvos

Do you love to discover and share stories? Are you positive and future focused?

The Alternative Atlas of Lesvos began life as a place based research and mapping project that aimed to highlight and celebrate the many layers that make this island so special. Following a year of exploration, experimentation and community outreach events, we are now developing this into a digital platform that aims to unlock the power of storytelling to inspire and connect. The digital prototype will be developed based on two locations: Lesvos island in Greece and Azraq Town and Camp in Jordan. The Jordan instance is coordinated in partnership with Civic, an international social enterprise that facilitates multi-stakeholder processes to initiate positive change.

The role:
We are looking for a content creator and editor with experience in journalism, film and/or audio to craft compelling stories using the research and interviews gathered from Lesvos and Jordan.

This may include creating short 1-2 minute videos on specific people, places and projects, editing audio interviews and writing copy.

This is a flexible role and you may work remotely.

ODD is operated on a 100% volunteer basis.
You will join an international team of highly motivated individuals to work on a unique project.


About You:

  • Candidates with backgrounds in the following areas are highly encouraged to apply: journalism and media, film, podcasting, sociology/ anthropology.

  • Completed 2 years university level coursework or similar OR have equivalent work experience

  • You must be a confident English speaker. Greek and or Arabic fluency is highly desirable.

  • You will need to have an empathetic outlook and you must be reliable.
