Programs Intern: Olive Grove 5.0
We are looking for interns with experience in carpentry + construction, landscape architecture or architecture to assist in developing the Olive Grove social area next to Moria Camp. For the 5th phase of this work we will be undertaking mapping and needs assessment activities in addition to installing a garden and steps to the newly installed education and wellbeing area managed by Red Cross and BRF.
As an Olive Grove Program Intern you will gain experience in community based design and skills-sharing processes and site management. You will also have opportunity to develop your skills in research, program development and delivery, monitoring and evaluation, and mentorship. You may also be required to support other office projects and initiatives and will gain a deep understanding of the context in which ODD operates. You will work independently and as part of a team.
The minimum commitment is 6 weeks with an average of 30- 40 hours per week depending on office needs.
Candidates with backgrounds in the following areas are highly encouraged to apply: carpentry, construction, landscape architecture, architecture
Completed 2 years university level coursework or similar OR have equivalent work experience
You must be a confident English speaker
Basic understanding of common power tools is advantageous
You will need to have an empathetic outlook and you must be reliable
Lesvos based individuals and those with Greek fluency are highly encouraged to apply.
