Shareen Elnaschie/ Co-founder - UK Shareen is an architectural + urban designer and action researcher. She has extensive experience working with marginalised communities on participatory mapping and planning projects. She has also previously tutored architecture and spatial design at postgraduate and foundation level. Shareen holds an MSc in International Cooperation: Sustainable Emergency Architecture from Universitat Internacional de Catalunya and a BA(Hons) Architecture (RIBA I) from London Metropolitan University.

Her focus is on creating safe spaces and building local capacities through participatory processes. As a communication agent she is also passionate about storytelling. She holds a master degree in Communication and a BA in International Development Studies from Roskilde University, Denmark.

Dimitris Ballas/ Research Advisor - Greece Dimitris is Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of the Aegean. He has previously worked as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield and has held visiting  positions at Harvard University, the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (Austria) and Ritsumeikan University (Japan).   His most recent published work is ‘The Human Atlas of Europe: a continent united in diversity’ (2017,  Policy Press, co-authored with Danny Dorling and Benjamin Hennig).
