She Repairs Instructors

We are recruiting women instructors to support two parts to this project:

  • Curriculum co-designers [online]

  • Workshop Instructors [in-person in Izmir: self-funded]

    Important things to note:

  • the position is voluntary: there is no financial compensation

  • there will be a series of separate courses in 4 different disciplines: carpentry, electrics, plumbing, plastering

  • flexible hours between October 2025 and February 2026 [to be determined according to availability]

About the roles

ODD is launching women-led DIY workshops in Izmir, Turkiye, to empower displaced and marginalised women with essential home repair skills. The aim is to boost confidence, self-reliance and community ties by enabling participants to safely complete common household repairs without relying on landlords or tradesmen.

We are seeking women with experience in carpentry, plastering, electrics or plumbing to help develop and lead these workshops. The Curriculum Co-design Team will design a hands-on training program tailored to participants with little to no prior experience and limited time availability. The Onsite Instructor Team will deliver a series of workshops around four core competencies: carpentry, electrics, plumbing and plastering. It is possible to apply for one or both teams.

Join us in helping to foster skills, confidence and potential income opportunities for a group of women who are often underestimated.
